PS2 Room
The formal preschool begins in the PS2 classroom where learners range in age from 18 months to 3 years. The lead teacher has a schedule that is followed daily. Children begin their day on the circle time rug, where they are able to sit for short periods and participate in learning activities. In this classroom a large portion of children’s learning is done through play during center time. Teachers are working on social skills, language acquisition, and problem solving techniques during this time. Toilet training is also developed in this classroom. Teachers take children to the restroom frequently. Self-feeding skills and table manners are encouraged at snack and lunch times. The lead teacher administers ongoing assessments to monitor growth with each infant. All staff are certified in CPR and First Aid.
